Sick Men, Unlikely 2.0, Bomb It, & Crash Course

Posted in crashcourse, news | No Comments »

Been really busy, so here’s just a quick update…

Sick Men is now up on Unlikely 2.0. Unlikely 2.0 is a collision of words and art. To Jonathan Penton and the rest of the folks there: keep up the good work!

The folks at the diy video site, wonderhowto, seem to think James St. James and Lenora Claire are highly edutaining. They found Crash Course and plan to put it on their homepage. Thanks guys!

For a little while now I’ve been web consultant/strategist for the huge new graffiti documentary, Bomb It. They had a great theatrical release and their web presence is really rocking; they currently have #1 google search result for ‘graffiti movie‘. sure, i helped steer them along, but I can’t really take the credit. a blog is only about as good as it’s content, and Jon and Tracy are really doing a great job with it. kudos guys.

In other news, I’m developing a short right now. Totally excited about it. will post more about it soon.

We finished this documentary just in time, with September beingNational Preparedness Month and all. This video goes over the top ten things you should have in order to survive just about anything- at least, according to Aton Edwards. He is the Executive Director of a New York based, non-government organization called the International Preparedness Network, and considered an expert on civilian preparedness.

He is the author of a book called Preparedness Now!”

Preparedness Now!
which features a checklist of products that you and I should have on hand in order to survive a crisis, just in case our local or federal government agencies fail to act in a timely manner.

Aton walks through his “Top 10: Shopping List for Urban Survival” demonstrating each item, and its uses in certain situations. I know you’re dying to know (no pun intended) what you need to go out and buy before the next disaster strikes, the list and the video is after the jump:

Ratsnitch Wins Best Experimental Short

The Ratsnitch Angel won for Best Experimental Short at the Silver Lake Film Festival!

While it’s great having your film in a festival in your home town. The Silverlake Film Fest is by no means a ‘home town’ fest. It’s massive. Just to give you an idea: There were over 100 films shown in all. There was a Sustainable L.A. program, a Gay/Lesbian program, and Alt Porn Program, bands/music events. Over the span of two weeks I got to meet lots of talented filmmakers, sit in on some great panels, and have lots of fun. Thanks to all the festival programmers for their herculean efforts in putting it together.
